Sshhhhhhh! It’s a secret!
Or is it?

We stole this idea from a coffee house, or maybe it was a boba tea place:
share your thoughts, your feelings, your fantasies, your questions, your advice, your troubles, your secrets, and your stories. Share anything you like… but share it completely anonymously. 

The goal is to help each other see that we are not alone on this journey of life. That we all have secrets, fantasies, questions, and concerns. That we are all… human!

We loved the idea so much, we wanted to share it with the adult spanking community to show that even spankos are not alone! 

We’ve been working on this project for a few years now. If you’ve seen us at an event, we’ve probably had our little journal with us for you to share your thoughts. Many have shared their own Spanko Secrets! And because it’s all anonymous, now we bring some of these secrets to you, our listeners. 

If you have something you’d like to share, drop us a line, an email, a FetLife message, or see us at an event and add to our Spanko Secrets journal! We’ll keep it anonymous for you, even if your method of communication doesn’t.

Social Capital

Social currency  vs social capital – what’s the difference and why does it matter? Have you ever considered your social capital? What builds your social capital and currency?  Do you know how to be a respected community member? Are you helpful?  Do you understand boundaries and take time to build friendships? Do you know how to make friends?  Did you know there are different levels of friendship? 

As a party attendee – do you feel like you have gotten a chance to enjoy spanking parties to the max? Or do you leave feeling like you didn’t fit in? Does it take you time to become comfortable in a setting? Are you only focused on your needs or do you listen to your play partners needs? Are you the type of party attendee that people can’t wait to have back or are you draining the resources without putting back into the community? 

Your reputation can precede you. Wouldn’t you like it to be the best one possible?

Building Community with Burning River SSC

The Executive Committee from Burning River SSC, our local spanking group, is back! This time we’re talking about what goes into building a successful spanking community.

Having been around for multiple years, Burning River has some good tips on starting from the ground up. We talk about munches, gathering your community, building rapport and education, planning simple house parties, and even renting spaces for a larger regional party. We also discuss the importance of vetting at parties, education about spanking, inclusivity, and much more. 

You may feel you have nothing in your local area, but by reaching out, you just may be surprised how many spankos you can find!

If you are near the Cleveland, Ohio area and want to check out a smaller party and dip your toes into the spanking scene this is a great group to check out.

Impact Play!? **Gasp!?** Some Spankos will cringe upon hearing spanking being referred to as “impact play.”

However, do you remember looking up “Spanking” in the dictionary? 

to strike especially on the buttocks with the open hand. 

We are literally having buttocks struck – causing impact – with either the hand or some sort of implement. 

“But it’s spanking! Stop ruining the sanctity of *my* fantasy.”

 

Join us as Mr. Ben shares with us his knowledge on what we as the Spanko- purist can learn from the BDSM community as far as communication and  consent. 

We can still learn and do better as a community as a whole. We owe ourselves this. A top is allowing themselves to strike another individual – pretty much assault – unless the receiver has consented.
